Born on the Road. Built for the Road

RV First Aid began as a simple idea sparked by real experiences on the road - moments of uncertainty, unexpected emergencies, and the realisation that many travellers weren’t as prepared as they thought.

After two years of full-time travel around Australia, Paul and Katie Guerin—known as The Feel Good Family—had encountered their fair share of first aid incidents, including their own vehicle roll over, broken bones, breakdowns, and tricky situations in remote locations. They’d also met countless fellow travellers who had packed all the gear but lacked the know-how to use it effectively in an emergency.

That’s when Paul recognised a critical gap: there was no comprehensive first aid or safety education tailored specifically to Australian travellers.

While presenting on stage at a major caravan and camping expo, Paul shared an idea that had been bubbling away for months - a first aid course designed specifically for travellers. Something real, practical, and made for life on the road. As the crowd dispersed, one bloke made his way over for a chat. His name was Anthony Cassone—a qualified first aid trainer who, as luck would have it, was about to commence travelling around Australia with his wife Loretta. What started as a quick conversation soon turned into a deep dive about shared experiences, safety gaps on the road, and a mutual passion for helping others. It was one of those moments that just clicked—and the beginning of RV First Aid as it’s known today.

“All the gear, no idea.”

That was the lightbulb moment behind RV First Aid—a course built not just for emergencies, but for everyday safety and preparedness on the road.

From that moment, RV First Aid started to take shape. Together with Anthony and Loretta, the team set out to create more than just a first aid course. They envisioned a complete education platform that addressed all aspects of safety on the road—from personal health and emergency response, to towing, remote travel, pet safety, and more.

Three years in the making, RV First Aid now brings together a powerhouse team of nine industry experts from across the caravan, camping, and 4WD world. With over 60 video lessons and hours of expert-led content, the course provides a never-before-seen resource for travellers exploring this great country.

Whether you’re a weekend warrior, a grey nomad, or a family doing the big lap, RV First Aid is designed to empower every traveller with the knowledge and confidence to stay safe, prepared, and ready for whatever the road delivers.
